Free TI-84 games: what you really get
A lot of calculator game sites say free and then ask for money halfway through. Here is exactly what is free with CalcX, what the trial includes, and what you pay if you decide to keep a game.
Free forever
- The CalcX app for the TI-84 Plus CE with its home screen, Notes, Clock and five themes
- Snake, with no time limit
- CalcX Lite for the TI-84 Plus, with Snake
Free for 15 minutes
Flappy, Chess, Calc Royale, Tic Tac Toe and Merge (and Flappy and Tic Tac Toe on CalcX Lite) can be played free for 15 minutes in total across all of them. Only real play time counts, and the timer pauses when you stop pressing keys. Each calculator gets one free trial.
How to start a trial
- Make a free account at calcx.store and add your calculator.
- Press Get my free trial code in your account.
- On the calculator, pick a locked game, press ENTER and type the 8-digit code (6 digits on CalcX Lite).
If you want to keep a game
Games are $2.50 CAD each, or $9.99 CAD for all five on the CE, paid once through Stripe. You get a code made for your calculator and the games unlock for good.
Questions about fairness
Trial time is stored in several places on the calculator and the code only works on the calculator it was made for. That is what lets everyone try the games without paying first.
