These terms cover your use of calcx.store and the CalcX software. By creating an account or buying anything, you agree to them. If you're under the age of majority where you live (18 or 19 in Canada), a parent or guardian needs to agree to these terms for you and make the purchase or give you permission.

Who we are

CalcX is an independent software project run from Ontario, Canada. You can reach us at [email protected].

What we offer

CalcX for the TI-84 Plus CE (a home screen and game hub) is a free download, and Snake inside it is free. The other games (Flappy, Chess, Calc Royale, Tic Tac Toe and Merge) are sold one by one or together.
CalcX Lite for the black-and-white TI-84 Plus and TI-84 Plus Silver Edition is a free download with Snake free. Flappy and Tic Tac Toe are unlocked with a purchase.

Free trial

Each calculator can get one free trial code from its CalcX account. It gives 15 minutes of play in total across the paid games.
The code has to be typed in soon after you get it (within 2 days on the CE, about a day on CalcX Lite), and the trial ends a week after the code was made even if minutes are left.
The trial is kept on the calculator. Trying to reset it, change it or get around it breaks these terms, and we may refuse further trial codes to that calculator or account.

Everything is a digital download. Prices are shown in Canadian dollars. Tax is worked out at checkout.

How buying works

Account first: you need a CalcX account to buy. Keep your email address current and your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
Sold through Link: payments are processed by Stripe. Orders are sold through Link, Stripe's checkout service, which is the merchant of record. Your receipt and billing come from Link, and Link's own terms apply to the payment. We never see your full card number.
Delivery: as soon as your payment goes through, your downloads and unlock code appear in your account.
Reinstalling: you can download your files again whenever you need to, for as long as we run the store.

Your licence

When you download CalcX or buy a game, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it on the calculator you bought it for.

CalcX for the CE: each code is tied to one calculator's ID.
CalcX Lite: each unlock code is tied to the request code that one calculator showed.
To use it on another calculator: you need another purchase.

You may not:

copy, share, upload, sell, rent or give away CalcX, its files or its codes
get around the activation or code checks, or help anyone else do so
change, decompile or reverse-engineer the software, except where the law allows it
remove the copyright notices

Your calculator

Supported models: CalcX runs on the TI-84 Plus CE (CalcX) and the TI-84 Plus / Silver Edition (CalcX Lite).
Extra tools on the CE: some OS versions need free third-party tools, such as arTIfiCE, Cesium and the CE libraries. Their authors provide them, not us.
Back up first: installing programs, jailbreak tools and RAM resets can erase what's on your calculator. Back up anything important before you start. We're not responsible for lost data.
School and exams: follow your school's and exam board's rules. Don't use CalcX where calculators are restricted, and remember that exam mode may block or remove it.
Not Texas Instruments: CalcX isn't made by or affiliated with Texas Instruments. TI-84 Plus and TI-84 Plus CE are trademarks of Texas Instruments.

Our responsibility

Warranty: we work hard to make CalcX reliable. Even so, it's provided "as is", and we can't promise it will work with every calculator, OS version or third-party tool.
Limit on liability: to the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses or lost data. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Your consumer rights: nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection law, including Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002.

Ending things

You can stop using CalcX and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that abuse the store, share codes, or try to break its security.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date below shows the latest version. If a change is important, we'll say so on the site. Purchases you already made keep the terms that applied when you bought them.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
